Before taking it in front of the customer, each of our products passes through a large production process. It requires a team, a vision, experience, as well as the dexterity of upholstery, painters and tailors. Of course, there are many more people who work to create a chair made to order. We will briefly tell you the conduct of this activity, or rather the few phases that make up the entire process. To begin with, let’s start with «idea». An idea designed by the designer.

To produce a chair, first of all, the concept must be created. Therefore, the vision is extremely important. From here begins the entire journey into the production process. The main task is attributed to the designer, this consists in viewing the concept. It is not enough to use the materials to produce a piece of furniture, it is necessary and to know what we want to create.

At this stage the first sketches of the product appearance are created. The designer’s ideas are transposed on paper, taking into account, in addition to the aesthetic aspect, the functionality of the model. After all, a chair must provide user comfort.

From sketch to the prototype

Once a sketch of the concept of Sisi 3 Chair 3 has been created, the designers and technological engineers intervene. They are the ones who translate the designer’s idea into the right parameters.

Numbers and figures, hours spent between calculations, all to ensure that the product satisfies all standards: ergonomics, duration and higher quality. Therefore, the designers create the first chair, the prototype, to which functional improvements are made. You can already see how the concept is slowly taking shape.

Production in full swing

Subsequently, we can follow the steps in the production process. The «spine» of the chair is the frame. In our factory in Poland, the team in the production room has the attribution to meticulously assemble every frame. The chair must be comfortable and to satisfy this function, the SP BH springs are assembled and the coating is cut to the right size. For the SISI 3 chair, two density of foam for upholstery are used: 25 kg/m3 (back and sides of the seat) and 35 kg/m3 (seat). Both are attested by the Oeko-Tex environmental certificate.

In the meantime, other processes are performed in the sewing seminary. The production is manual, taking into account the customer’s specifications (the type of material and the chosen color). The textile parts are working on the sewing machines because each seam is important. In this case, the tailor’s experience is extremely precious. Each type of fabric for upholstery requires a wire and a thickness of the needle, as well as a suitable color. The fabric is used to create the special «coat» of the seat.

We can turn our attention to another place: the painting laboratory. Production takes place both in phases and at the same time. In order for the beech wood used in the production of the frame to be covered with the paint chosen by the customer, it is important that the temperature, the humidity of the air and the ventilation system are suitable in the room.

First of all, the frames are painted with a spray in a cutting -edge cabin, then they put a dryer.

The lacquer room is the next phase of their journey. Here, they are lacquered twice with a transparent and ecological lake based on water. The lacquer is made with the help of a low pressure pistol and a piston pump.

The climax of the entire process is the manual sanding of the freshly painted and lacquered wood.

In the upholstery workshop, the tapestry team is the one that gives the final form to the product, which is why their work is extraordinarily important. Undoubtedly, they must have an expert eye and patience. When they are padded, our colleagues use stickers, threads and many other tools.

The Sisi 3 chair is a model with further decorative elements: a hammer and a pioneer, which requires another assembly process, made with a special hammer.

The latest changes have been made and Sisi 3 is now ready. Everything we have to do now is to pack it with care and deliver it safely.
